One Click Buy it Now?

When trying to snipe some listings, is there any option for one click buy it now? ....eBay has put in the 1 click bid, but dont see anything for buy it now. Thinking it's not here as an option through eBay, but thought I would ask. Thanks!|||Um, well if the seller has placed a Buy It Now option on the listing, then yes. You only need click the BIN button and you have purchased the item, unless Immediate Payment Required was also set up in which case you also have to to to Paypal(or whatever other electronic payment method the seller uses) and pay for the item or you still haven't bought it. But otherwise, obviously not.|||But if it is a bid-only auction, avoid using the 1-click button, it's worthless for sensible bidding.~James~|||BIN has always been a 2-click process (unless, as OSP said, IPR is used). You click BIN then you have to confirm. There is no need to cut it down to one click. Thee are already too many buyers out there that like to say they used BIN "on accident." Since it a 2-click process, that is impossible.|||But if it is a bid-only auction, avoid using the 1-click button, it's worthless for sensible bidding. I totally agree. I think Ebay put it in there hoping people would start bidding wars again. Bid once, bid your max.|||Maybe the OP meant 1-click ordering like the River has? Buy now with 1-click®.~James~|||Yes, ...one click, im losing lots of listings on BIN, within seconds ...the 2 extra load screens and logging into paypal each time could yield me 25% more wins. I dont think it's out there, --Without require immediate payment - is BUY IT NOW, and COMMIT TO BUY on next screen, pretty easy. --WITH require immediate payment --its these i lose alot, ....because you never know just how fast paypal will login etc, its 4 load screens. Sometimes i get to last step, after logging in and need to confirm payment and lose the when it says "item no longer available, meaning i lost it within seconds"|||I'm in discussion with outsourced script web based scripts to scan based on my requirements and show all relevant info I need to make a decision (feedback, description, item spec price w/ shipping) and within one click, does the rest for me as fast as a PC can do .....||||||Whoops! Ebay removed listings after I paid

I received notice that ebay removed several listings from a seller I had already paid. The email said to file with Paypal right away. I did so and selected item not received and added a note to the seller that ebay had removed the listing and advised me to file the dispute. I received the items today and they were SNAD (silver plated, not .925 silver as listed) Now I cannot contact the seller as I have no listing to get their info from. Should I go ahead and change my dispute from item not received to SNAD? Thanks.|||On this you should speak to paypal to change the dispute from INR to SNAD. Go to their Contact Us link on the PP website. Only a PP rep can help you do that. The item # is in the transaction details in your PP.~James~

Should I pay seller for shipping back and close case?

1. I returned an item (not as described) to seller on his request. The seller asked me for more money for repairs, so I opened a case. Now the seller only wants to charge me $22 for shipping it back to me. Should I pay for the shipping? 2. The seller said he couldn't use his paypal unless I close the case. Should I close the case? (I am afraid of receiving the item not as described again.|||I'm sure James (the most helpful and knowledgeable poster) will reply to you soon. Or someone else who can assist you. It would help if you could provide an auction number and more details.|||Am I understanding correctly ...you received an item not as described, sent it back to seller, they fixed it and want $22.00 to send it back to you? I would NOT close the case.Since I haven't sold in quite a while, will wait for someone to come along who is up on this stuff to answer your other question.|||Here's the auction .... Link OP already left a neg for seller.|||The seller asked me for feedback, so I left him a negative feedback...|||It is a long story: 1. I received the iphone on 06/25/2010 without charger . I told the seller but he suggested me to pay him $30 for the charger and other items. The iphone was not "used" until this Monday, 07/12/2010, until I received an ipod charger, when I learned that iphone that couldn't be used in any sense.! 2. He said refund is impossible and asked me to return it to him to fix. 3. I mailed it back on Wednesday, 07/14/2010 (cost $18.**). Then the seller charges me for repairs because I 'got the mailing adhesive on the top of the iPhone' , which is not true! I was so angry that I opened the case. 4. He called me several times and promised to give me a good iphone, but asked $22 for shipping. I paid... 5. He said paypal charges his money for the case and asked me to close the case.|||One thing make sure you have a claim and not just a dispute and do not close it until you win or made whole. If you close you can not open it up again for anything SNAD INR no reason will reopen it. So if the phone arrives and is defective and you closed the case you can not open it up again so be sure it is good as after this point if it arrives and does not work and the case is closed you can not file again. Also make sure you escalate to a claim from a dispute before the dispute is closed and found in the favor of the seller by default if you have not already done so. It happens all the time sellers drag it out and the buyer did not escalate in time.|||"when I learned that iphone that couldn't be used in any sense.!" Why couldn't it be used?|||DO NOT close the SNAD dispute! Your seller is stalling you and trying to ditch the dispute and you will get nothing! IF you properly used delivery confirmation as required by Ebay/Paypal then give Ebay the D/C # proving return and request a full refund. NO Way, should you be paying a dime more for this deal! If you filed with Ebay, please read this link and follow the procedure for getting your refund. Link You have already left your seller a NEG, so they have absolutley NO incentive to help or play fair at this point.Escalate from a dispute to a claim now , give D/C # , request refund (item price and original S&H paid) from Ebay's Buyer Protection.|||"He said refund is impossible and asked me to return it to him to fix." This is pure rubbish!|||"I returned an item (not as described) to seller on his request. The seller asked me for more money for repairs, so I opened a case. Now the seller only wants to charge me $22 for shipping it back to me. Should I pay for the shipping? " NO do not do it! "2. The seller said he couldn't use his paypal unless I close the case." Again, pure rubbish! Should I close the case? (I am afraid of receiving the item not as described again." You are very correct to worry and NO should not close the dispute. Escalate to a claim, provide required proof of rturn to the seller and demand a full refund (item price and the original S&H). DO NOT close the case, unless you have a full refund, in hand.|||Because your seller has only 22 feedback (under 100) and NO track rcord for selling, Paypal is holding your payment. That is WHY the seller wants you to close the case. DO NOT close. Escalate, provide proof of the return and get your refund. You should have NO further email /communication with the seller at this point! All communication at this point should be with, who ever you filed the dispute with Either Ebay OR Paypal to get your refund.|||Thank you for all your suggestions I won't trust this guy any more! Does anybody know how to get the money (I paid him $22 last night for shipping) back? Thanks again!||||||I tried everything I could do, but I could see nothing on the screen but the apple logo......

can't start a case

I paid for an item 15 days ago and have also contacted the seller with no response. During the bidding process I contacted her and she was totally nice and completely responsive. Now, not so much. So I went to the resolution center to open a case and it replied with "We're sorry there's a problem with this purchase.Unfortunately, PayPal reports that we can't open a case for this item. You can try to work out this problem by contacting the seller." Why does paypal say we can't open a case? And what do I do now?|||Auction number? How did you pay? Was it thru the Ebay auction or via the seller sending a "Send Money Request" via Paypal?|||"I paid for an item 15 days ago and have also contacted the seller with no response." Buyer damaged my coin then claimed on it

I sent a perfectly good coin to a US buyer.............he said it was not what he wanted so I said ok send it back............when it came back he had scratched it, thus it now has no value!!!!!! Ebay/Paypal refused my claim against the buyer and I notice there seems to be no course of action available when this happens........................so thanks Ebay for taking a lot of fees off me in the past and not supporting me!!!!! I use the word 'past' as I ain't dealing anymore with Ebay/Paypal.........|||Sorry this happened to you. Unfortunately, this is a common thing on eBay now and the site allows it. Most commonly this happens with electronics ex: buyer has a broken one, buys a new one on eBay, claims it arrived broken, sends back broken original one for refund + keeps new electronic (my posting ID)

Why did you have an "unpaid item case" opened, did the seller refund you, or did you take a long time to pay? If you funded your PP payment with a credit card they might be of help, but ebay's out of the picture. Sorry you got a bad seller but it's between you and him now. ~James~

how can I pay for multiple items?

How can I pay for multiple items?|||If the items are all from the same seller, Fixed Price, with Immediate payment required, email seller and ask for an invoice with the appropriate shipping amount. If they don't require Immediate Payment, still email seller and ask them if they combine shipping (give a discount). Started a Case, No Response?

I started a SNAD case on an item I bought recently after no response from the seller. After a few days the seller contacted me through eBay's regular messaging system asking me to send the item back for a refund. And I will, with delivery confirmation. But she didn't respond to the actual case I started. Does she need to respond to the case for me to be protected? Is there any way I can screw this up if I just send it back (with DC) without completing the case I opened? Thanks for your help.|||You're find as long as you can provide Pay Pal with online viewable proof of delivery. The only thing that will happen if the seller never responds to the dispute - is PP will close out - in your favor. I believe the seller has 10 days to respond. Someone pass me an explanation and a Tanq on the rocks please ...|||Seller has 7 days to respondIt may not be your fault but it is your responsibility Silver rule "do not do to others what you would not like to be done to you"|||If you wait 7 days and there is no response, I believe EBAY covers the return shipping cost by issuing you a shipping label; otherwise, you pay for it - or, as I have done in one such SNAD case - requested the seller reimburse the shipping charge - which they did.|||Thanks for the info, it's good to know!|||If you wait 7 days and there is no response, I believe EBAY covers the return shipping cost by issuing you a shipping label Not usually. Normally, even if the seller doesn't respond, Ebay will ask you to return the item on your dime before refunding. Since the seller offered to refund upon return, go ahead and return it. Use DC and if the seller does not refund after it shows delivery, Ebay will take care of it. Do not close the case until you get your refund.

Item not useable; go thru seller or open dispute?

I purchased a bead that seller said would fit Pandora bracelets. The bead arrived but it does not fit my bracelet. The seller enclosed a note asking that I resolve any issues directly with them rather than thru Paypal but my question is this...if I do not involve Paypal, is my refund guaranted? Seller states they will refund after return of item but I also know that Paypal requires delivery confirmation for returns. I did email seller to let them know of the problem; much too early to get a reply from them but wanted your input.|||Always give the seller a chance to fix the problem before involving "the man." Seller states they will refund after return of item but I also know that Paypal requires delivery confirmation for returns. I don't understand the problem. You can get DC either way, you don't have to file with PayPal to get DC.|||Is this seriously a question? Duh! Talk to your seller.|||ALWAYS go to the seller first. If the seller asks you to return the bead, do so using Delivery confirmation. If the seller doesn't refund within a few days of receiving your return, THEN you can open your case and use the DC number to prove you have already returned it. You are safe by going to the seller first, you always have back-up with Paypal. Do keep track of the 45 day limit to making a claim.

Bad seller??? help?

I recently paid for an item from a new ebayer (new as in under 30 days and 0 feedback) and I have not recieved the item. Everything seemed fine to begin with; the seller responded to my questions, told me they shipped the item, left feedback, etc. I have not recieved the item, and I now see that the seller has a -2 feedback score and both of them say the seller didn't send the item, and one even said they paid for the item twice. Am I going to get my item, or do I get ready to file a claim? I have never had to do this, and I was hoping I never would. The seller said they sent the item approx. 5 days ago I believe, and has not responded to my inquiries since then. Any thoughts???|||Give the item 10 business days to arrive-if it doesn't file an item not received complaint for a full refundIt may not be your fault but it is your responsibility Silver rule "do not do to others what you would not like to be done to you"|||Ok, how do I go about filing a claim? Helpful Hints For A Safe Buying Experience

As a long time eBayer, I've come up with some helpful tips on making your buying experience on eBay a pleasant one. If anyone else has more tips, please add them to this thread to help buyers. 1. Read a sellers feedback before bidding. This is the single most important piece of information you will find - if you see multiple neutrals or negatives for quality, delivery or communication issues - you can generally believe the information. Don't bid if a seller has poor feedback. 2. IF IT SEEMS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE - it usually IS! 3. Ask questions of a seller before bidding. If there is something in the listing you don't understand, not mentioned or is not clear - e mail the seller using the "Ask the Seller A Question" link in the auction before you place a bid. 4. If shipping price or method is not listed - e mail the seller your zip code and ask the price before bidding. Don't open yourself up for a shock after you win. Some sellers start bids at very low bid prices and have high shipping to offset it. If you can't find the shipping price - ask BEFORE you bid. 5. Your bid is a binding agreement - please don't bid if you don't intend to pay. 6. Make sure your ISP does not block E Bay e-mails and your e mail address is up to date. Some ISP's have SPAM features that block E Bay messages. If yours does, you may not receive any end of auction notices from your seller. 7. If you don't hear from your seller within 3 days, e-mail them. 8. Read the full auction before bidding. You cannot change the terms of an auction after you win. Make sure you fully agree with all of the terms (method of payment, time frame for payment to be received) in the listing before placing your bid. 9. Carefully read the payment options the seller accepts. Be very wary if a seller accepts payment via wire transfer only - many fraudulent sellers will not accept any other method of payment, as they cannot be rescinded or charged back later. Paying with a credit card is the safest way to pay, as you have some recourse if the item is not received. 10. Please check the category of the item you are bidding on to ensure you are bidding correctly. 11. If you are buying clothing and measurements are not included with the size, e mail the seller and get the measurements before you bid. All manufacturers do not cut clothing the same way. 12. Read the E Bay discussion boards for help with a problem that may arise. There are chat boards for virtually any topic you can think of - you can obtain great advice availing yourself to this free service. Other E Bayers are the best helpers in a problem situation. 13. If the item is not as described, please contact your seller BEFORE leaving feedback. Most sellers want to please their customers, especially if they have good feedback. Allow the seller a chance to correct a problem before leaving feedback. 14. If you never receive your item, e-mail your seller. If you get no response, pull their contact info and call them. If their contact info phone number or e-mail address is invalid, file an invalid contact report with eBay. You also have the availability of filing an Item Not Received dispute. This can be filed 10 days after you have paid, but you should make every attempt to contact your seller and allowing them to rectify the issue before you file. I hope these suggestions make your E Bay buying experience a HAPPY one! A good friend will come and post bail for you in jail - a true friend will be sitting next to you saying "Darn that was fun!"|||***waves to willysgrandma*** I would like to add: 15. You have 45 days to file a complaint for an item not received if you pay by paypal. DO NOT let this window close on you without receiving your item or filing a claim. A good friend will come and post bail for you in jail - a true friend will be sitting next to you saying "Darn that was fun!"|||May I add something? Don't assume the method of shipping if it isn't stated. If the shipping is in line with, say Priority Mail, but the seller states "Standard Shipping" don't assume it will be sent priority mail. Also, it is good to understand how long different mailing classes take. Only Express is guaranteed in two days. I've seen packages delivered cross country in two days by regular mail. I've seen Priority take a week. The words "eBay" and "logic" do not belong in the same sentence. KKC #21|||I'd like to add some tips, too: 1. Give careful consideration to buying from a seller with a feedback rating below 98%. Check not only the negatives and neutrals in their feedback, but look at the feedback they leave their buyers/sellers. If they don't respond to negative feedback in a calm, rational way, they probably won't deal with you any better. 2. The more unprofessional the buyer/seller is, the more professional you should be. 3. ALWAYS file disputes on problem transactions once communication stalls with your seller/buyer. You may not leave any feedback, but the strike they get is far more important, especially for sellers.|||Excellent post, willysgrandma! Lots of good advice! I might also add... If you contact a seller to ask questions before bidding and the seller doesn't respond in a reasonable time or not at all, or responds unprofessionally....DON'T BID!|||If you contact a seller to ask questions before bidding and the seller doesn't respond in a reasonable time or not at all, or responds unprofessionally....DON'T BID! A good friend will come and post bail for you in jail - a true friend will be sitting next to you saying "Darn that was fun!"|||You can and should check negs and neutrals here: Link Some advice always bears repeating: Always ask all questions before bidding and don't bid if seller doesn't answer. Look at the seller as hard or harder than you do the item and price. When you bid on an auction, you are agreeing to everything listed or not listed so don't bid until you are sure.|||Do not ever pay with a wire transfer or Western Union Money Transfer. They do if their feedback received is quite a bit higher than their feedback scoreA seller with repeat business is obviously a seller with happy and satisfied customers .|||willysgrandma I do not agree with #3 & #4. If sellers cannot provide an accurate description and list their shipping charges, their auctions do not deserve my bids. I've got better things to do than ask sellers to tell me what they are selling and how much it will cost me to have it shipped. I also do not bid on auctions that do not offer a return privilege. To me it's a red flag when sellers will not stand behind their sales. I also do not bid on auctions where the description includes a laundry list of information that is irrelevant. That's usually a sign that there is a catch buried within the unnecessary verbiage.|||iipnd - I think WG's point is that you should not assume anything. Buyers: Do you prefer Fixed Price or Auction Listings?

A wee bit of a poll. If a fixed price listing is a fair and reasonable price, do you prefer that or, so you can have fun with the bidding process, do you prefer Auction style listings? So my answer is... depends.~James~||||||I posted a similar question on the sellers forum yesterday, James. I have just had to open a Resolution Center case and have questions

I have just opened a case. I would like to know exactly what happens at this point on the side the case was opened against. Nasty followup feedback

I bought three items from a seller last month, and paid immediately via Paypal. Seller left positive feedback. It took almost a month, numberous emails, a phone call (bad contact info) and a paypal claim to finally get two items and one refund. It was an awful experience, and I left feedback reflecting that. She immediately started harrassing me with requests to amend my feedback, since I now had my two items, and a refund for the one that she listed without having it in stock, and not saying so in her auctions. Grrrrr. I was not about to leave no trace of the bad experience, although I imagine she harrasses plenty of buyers into doing so. Next thing I know, she has added nasty-gram followups to my positive feedback. I reported this to ebay several days ago, but it's still there. What's the story? And should I be concerned?|||The negs you left were factual and not emotional rants. IMO, the seller looks very foolish and juvenile in the way in which she responded.|||Sorry, nothing to report, it's just the usual back 'n' forth slap fight many people engage in in FB. If she harasses you through e-mail or phone you should report that.~James~|||Mmmm...quite a mess. Your feedback left for the seller is good, but all the follow up comments just make it look bad, but I doubt anything can be done about that. A member can request that feedback left for them be removed when the comments conflict with the positive rating given. I'm not sure how eBay will deal with it when it is the follow up comment that is negative. Link Reason, select: negative comment conflicts with positive rating. Then in the comment box "Negative follow up comment conflicts with positive rating." I'd be interested to know how eBay respond. It seems like they should remove those follow-up comments, as they're on the buyer's FB profile, not the seller's. Unfortunately, if the seller complains, they may remove the OP's original FBs -- at least 2 of them, and possibly all 3. 2 of them refer to PayPal claims, which is grounds for comment removal. The other one references the other 2 transactions, which may be subject to removal ... it would probably depend on the mood of whoever was handling the complaint.|||From what I can tell, it is not against policy to post a negative follow-up to FB. As long as the original FB is positive, Ebay doesn't care. A while back, I had a buyer leave me a neg after I had left her a positive. I responded to her neg and to the positive I left. The buyer swore she would have it removed and reported it to Ebay. It's still there.|||You leave a lot of negs and neutrals...try Walmart if you are not happy!|||OP left Neg " Not available; seller ignored emails until PP claim filed, then refunded." Never mention Ebay or Paypal in feedback , as it qualifies for removal , if requested by the seller See Feedback Abuse policy Link You could request Ebay remove the seller's follow up comments , but it is doubtful they will qualify for removal. Your best bet is to just delete/ignore and report all further emails from the seller to Ebay Link If the seller's emails are being sent to your private email address, include the seller's emails with full headers and report at above link If the emails are being sent thru Ebay's message system, then report by using the Report this Email as inapproriate button. Did you email the seller before bidding and ask if the item was back in stock? If not that is where the transaction started to go South. I am a firm believer, sellers should NOT be listing items, they don't have in stock. If after you asked, found out the item was still being listed, but out of stock, you should not have hit the BIN and you should have reported the seller's auction via the Selling Practices Policy (right hand side Contact Us) Look here re: availability Link||||||||||||Lucy: Thanks for the good info. old debts

My account wont let me bid because i owe on old ones and I was wondering how I can either pay them off or get them removed|||Two questions. 1. is this a posting ID? How many unpaid items items did you have? I did a search on this id and it was not found. Smart sellers will report unpaid items to ebay. When you get 4 unpaids, ebay removes you permantently. Unpaids get a lot of email from the sellers and ebay so there'sno excuse for not paying in a timely manner.|||Sellers can block buyers w unpaid items recorded on their account even if they don't have enough to be removed by ebayIt may not be your fault but it is your responsibility Silver rule "do not do to others what you would not like to be done to you"|||How old are the "old ones?"|||I did a search on this id and it was not found. Obtaining a refund...

I recently purchased a very expensive item (coin) on eBay costing $100s. The pictures of the item were blurry, but I decided to buy the item based on emails to and from the seller, the seller's 100% feedback at the time, and the statement on the auction stating "7 day money back, buyer pays return shipping." When I received the item, it was not what I was expecting. The seller claims he had accurately described my item. I believe he had been deceptive and knew all along that what I purchased from him was a less valuable coin. I mentioned to him that I planned to return the coin for a refund, but he is now saying that since the item was as described, he will not refund my money and that I would have to file a dispute with eBay. What is eBay's track record in situations like this?|||return with insurance and signature required if it is over 250.00 or with delivery confirmation if less than 250.00 initiate a pay pal not as described and give them the tracking # Pay pal is pretty good about these things but why in the world would you buy a high value item with bad pictures ??? that would set off a very loud alarm for me . if it seems to good to be true , chances are it is too good to be true . Sue|||Yes, lesson learned. I would like to think that sellers on eBay, especially those with 100% feedback and with good comments would abide by what they advertise on their auctions. Plus, my email communications back and forth to the seller gave me the sense that he was honest and I could trust him. It's sad. I still think basically he's a good guy. But good sellers can go bad. And when people get $100s in their bank accounts, their attitudes can easily change. I left him with negative feedback so that other buyers will be aware of my situation. I do not plan to change my feedback. Out of curiosity, does eBay tend to side with the buyer or the seller? I have had little success with PayPal.|||Looks to me like this coin sold for $1000.00. The seller is probably worried that the coin sold will not be the coin returned.|||Nope. I returned the coin with delivery confirmation and signature confirmation. I took a picture of the coin in its cardboard holder, the envelope, and my note. I saved the ebay auction (took a picture of it and emailed it to myself). It is very clear that the coin sold to me is the coin that I returned. Nevertheless, an honest seller will abide with what is advertised in his/her auction. I believe most other upright buyers and sellers will agree with this. If eBay does not respect the right of buyers, then there are other places where buyers can do their shopping. Amazon.com has a much better system in my opinion. Buyers are much better protected there.|||"Nope. I returned the coin with delivery confirmation and signature confirmation. At the time I filed the claim, I did not send the package. I have since sent the coin back. I now have a delivery confirmation number and a signature confirmation number. How do I add this information after submitting my claim? Is there a way to add more information to the claim? Also, what happens if the seller refuses to accept/sign for my returned package? What will eBay do in such a case? And I think I may have filed a PayPal claim as well to cover all bases. If I did do so, what should I do with the PayPal claim? Thanks|||I just checked my US Postal Service papers. I sent the coin back by delivery confirmation and insurance (over $200). The postal clerk said that packages insured for that amount require a signature anyway, so I did not need signature confirmation. I just tracked my package and it shows that it was received by my local post office and will be on its way to the seller.|||James. A rarer coin like this should be graded and not by a company like this seller likes to use. ACG is a waste of money. His feedback is great for the terrible photos he takes of coins. They are so bad that when someone recieves them the coin has to be better than photo.|||The USPS Clerk gave you very bad advice. " so I did not need signature confirmation.
